Max Bögl Group opts for opheo
Thursday, March 31, 2016 – The Max Bögl Group intends to use the opheo dispatching software and telematics system in the four business areas of concrete, wind power, precast elements and bulk materials to optimize the control of the truck fleet with a total of 261 own and 50 external vehicles. The software developed by initions AG and the additional tools developed jointly with the Max Bögl Group had previously “proved to be the only solution with which the very different requirements of all business areas can be covered”, explains fleet manager Erhard Wolfrum. At the end of the project, the new software will be used at 55 workstations.
“We expect opheo to bring significant time savings for our dispatchers, who will be able to devote even more attention to the needs of our customers in the future,” says Sarah Geißelsöder, who, together with Holger Schrafl, is coordinating the extensive software project on the Max Bögl side.
The wide range of requirements from the four business areas is one of the special features of the project. While concrete mixers are dispatched in the concrete sector, heavy-duty trucks are primarily used in the wind power and precast element sectors. “The bulk material transports carried out with dump trucks also need special parameters for optimized dispatching,” emphasizes Holger Schrafl.
In addition to dispatching, the opheo Mobile telematics application is one of the key elements of the solution. The module, which has received the Telematics Award, will be integrated into the TomTom Telematics telematics platform at Max Bögl. TomTom Telematics combines the mobile order management of opheo with the navigation and telemetry data solution from TomTom, which ensures the reading and analysis of FMS and tachograph data. The interface to the drivers is provided by TomTom Tablet-PCs PRO8275 with 7-inch screens, which serve as a navigation system and mobile order and communication center. Initions is working with Xplus1 GmbH from Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz on the integration between opheo Mobile and TomTom.
With the help of the telematics solution, dispatchers can track all connected trucks in real time. Opheo uses the current position data to calculate whether the trucks are still on schedule and provides an outlook on the estimated time of arrival at the following destinations. The current data from the Digital Tachograph is also retrieved live from the truck and taken into account in the scheduling. Dispatchers are informed by opheo at an early stage of any impending delays, giving them time to react. Opheo won the Telematics Award at the IAA in Hanover for this forecasting function.
To ensure a continuous electronic data flow, opheo will be seamlessly integrated into the SAP system and the production control systems at Max Bögl.
