Wormser uses opheo for dispatching
“We chose opheo because we can easily integrate the modular solution into our IT landscape. Solvares Logistics also has very good references,” explains Martin Nether, CEO of Hans Wormser AG. As part of the selection process, the company also surveyed its dispatchers, who “also spoke out in favor of opheo due to its ease of use, short response times and the very diverse configurability of the work surfaces,” reports board member and project manager Bertram Rupprecht.
At Wormser, opheo complements the transport management system from Sauer, which will continue to be used for billing as well as workshop and order management. The order data is transferred directly from Sauer to the dispatch cockpit via an interface and distributed to the vehicles there. Another interface will be set up for the Spedion telematics system before the go-live in May.
In the first step, the Herzogenaurach and Schelklingen locations will be switched to the new dispatch software. Four more branches will follow until the entire 12-member dispatch team will work with opheo. The new software should significantly simplify their daily work, so that Hans Wormser AG can manage its annual growth of 8 to 12 percent with the same quality and with the same number of employees. The investment should pay for itself after just 18 months.
The simplifications begin with automatic notification and end with intelligent support for tour planning in silo transport, where, in addition to rest periods, the order of the loaded products and the rinsing processes of the tanks must also be taken into account. “The work of our dispatchers is so complex that people can hardly process the large number of factors in their heads,” explains Rupprecht, adding: “In addition, there are handovers during shift changes and additional challenges due to working in the home office.” With the intelligence of opheo, they want to simplify dispatching for people and, last but not least, make it easier for new and lateral entrants to get started.

Hans Wormser AG is a medium-sized logistics service provider based in Herzogenaurach with 11 locations in Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
